How it works

It learns your hand by itself. Then a calmer arrow.

No settings homework and no manual to study. Here is the whole idea, in plain words.

First, it learns your hand.

When you first open TrueCursor, you simply keep using your Mac. There is no calibration step and nothing to configure: it learns your hand from ordinary movement, and the tuning settles within the first minute.

With no setup at all, it learns two things: the rhythm of your shake, and the speed of the movements you make on purpose. Everyone’s pattern is different, that is why it learns yours instead of using one setting for everybody.

From then on, it can tell the difference between the two. The shake gets absorbed. The movement you mean to make goes through, at nearly full speed.

Your hand changes through the day, medicine wears off, hands get tired. The app keeps quietly adjusting, within safe limits, so the help fits your hand at 9 in the morning and at 8 at night.

Under the hood, this is machine learning: a model trained on the movement patterns of real tremors, running privately on your Mac. It fine-tunes itself to your hand, and nothing about your movement ever leaves the machine.

Each one can be turned on or off on its own. Use what helps; ignore the rest.

Movement

A steady arrow

The shake is taken out of the arrow while your real movement passes through. This is the heart of the app.

Clicks

Protected clicks

Accidental double-clicks are ignored. If the mouse slips a little while you press, the click stays where you aimed instead of dragging something away.

Targets

Buttons that meet you halfway

A soft outline appears on the button you are near, and your click lands on it, even the tiny ones, like the little x that closes a tab. If pressing the mouse button is the hard part, there is an option that clicks for you when you rest on a target for a second.

Scrolling & keys

Straight scrolling, calmer typing

Pages scroll straight instead of drifting sideways. And if your keyboard sometimes types a letter twice, there is help for that too.

The things that are hard, made easy.
